April 30th - Centennial Tree Plantation Ceremony
The company prepared a Centennial Tree Plantation site; special guests honoring this event were Congressman Wally Herger and Assemblyman Rick Keene.

June 26th - Summer Solstice Century
The company co-sponsored the first annual fund raising event for public education with The Forest Foundation.
The picturesque trip begins at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy and winds its way through some of the most breathtaking scenery of the Feather River Country.
Five courses allow riders of various skill levels the opportunity to participate in this exciting event.
August 7th - Baseball with the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox
Soper-Wheeler sponsored a Gold Sox baseball game in celebration of their centennial year of business in the community.

The Gold Sox won the game 5-0 in front of over 2,000 fans who were there to celebrate Soper-Wheeler's turn-back-the-clock theme.
Event Highlights:

October 6th - A Day in the Forest
The company hosted this tour in the upper elevation timber. Lunch was at Frosty Hollow, the site that was dedicated to Franklin J. Ely as a memorial to his 56 years of service as a director for the company. Special guest speaker was Mike J. Gillis, author of the centennial book, "Soper Wheeler Company: A Century of Growing Trees".
The combination bus and walking tour demonstrated the principles of forestry such as fire protection, wildlife habitat, and watershed maintenance.
Visitors had the opportunity to view a variety of management practices which are used for the protection and use of our forestlands.
