As you may know, the Hedgpeth Ranch has been marketed as the “Anvil Vineyard & Ranch” for two years. In 2011 we have had an unprecedented number of vacation and wedding reserved weekends on this ranch. Ninety percent of the weekends between April and Thanksgiving  have been reserved by groups.

We hosted 11 wedding weekends in 2011 and word has spread about our venue, which emphasizes the rugged beauty of Sonoma County with the back-to-basics agricultural experience of a simpler time. Because of this unique combination, we anticipate 14 or more weddings in 2012.

Take a look at Joaquin and Lizzie’s Wedding website for a sample of how one couple celebrated their day. The post-ceremony celebration featured the happy couple planting a Soper-Wheeler grown redwood tree.

We have also seen retreat weekends from companies and institutions such as Google, OpenTable.com, Deutsche Bank, and  the US Federal Government on the rise.

The option to experience the hands-on operations of  a working ranch, or just to relax and recreate while enjoying the peaceful open space captivates our guests.

Guests have come from all over the world to this beautiful ranch. 2011 saw multiple visitors from Austria, Singapore, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and many countries in Europe.

Many projects have been taken on in 2011 as well. Winemaking on the ranch has moved to center stage. Harvesting 2,000 pounds of grapes each year  for the past two years, we now have the equivalent of 120 cases of wine in tanks or barrels. This also allows us to offer wine tasting to guests while enriching their knowledge about how vineyards are grown and how wine is made.

This year we continued maintenance and improvement of the structures and the grounds. As guests return time and time again, most every comment has been: “Wow, there have been so many more improvements”.

Many of these guests find us online at our Vacation Rental by Owner website. We continue to receive very positive reviews from our guests on Yelp and VRBO, and we look forward to more positive feedback as we continue to make improvements in 2012.
